Analysis of the match between Toulouse and PSG
Toulouse endured a disappointing pre-season, failing to win any of their six friendlies (five defeats, one draw). However, under coach Carles Martinez Novell, they have stunned Ligue 1 2025/26 with a dream start – two straight victories, both with clean sheets – and currently sit above PSG in the table thanks to a better goal difference (+3 vs +2). This promising form gives Toulouse plenty of confidence ahead of their clash with the Parisian giants.
That said, Toulouse have historically struggled against PSG. In the last 12 competitive meetings (excluding friendlies), PSG won 10, drew once, and lost only once – a surprising 1-3 defeat at Parc des Princes on May 13, 2024.
On the other hand, PSG have not looked particularly sharp at the beginning of this new campaign. The extended 2024/25 season took a toll on their players’ fitness, and it shows. Two narrow 1-0 wins over modest opponents Nantes and Angers highlight that Luis Enrique’s men are still far from their best form.
